On finishing things

Placeholder text. A painting is finished when I stop arguing with it, not when it stops needing something. Most of the ones I like were left a little early, while they could still change their mind. The ones I finished properly are tidy and I do not look at them much.

I keep a rule: if I am only adding to be safe, put the brush down.
